Q:	What kind of hierarchy existed among the ninjas? 忍者にはどのような階級制度がありましたか？		A:	Each 'ryu' was headed by a commander in chief, or 'jonin'. They issued orders to middle officers, or 'chunin', who organized their plans. Field agents, or 'genin', carried them out. 各流派は、「上忍」とよばれる頭領が指揮をしていました。「上忍」は「中忍」に命令を下し、それをもとに「中忍」が計画を企て、「下忍」が遂行していました。
Q:	Were there female ninjas as well? 忍者には女性もいましたか？		A:	Yes, the women were called 'kunoichi'. Though usually employed for their mental, rather than physical abilities, they were trained to fight like the men. And they carried objects such as hairpins and musical instruments to be used as weapons. はい。女性の忍者は「くのいち」とよばれ、主に心理的能力を活かして働きましたが、男性と同様に戦闘の訓練もしていました。かんざしや楽器などを武器として隠し持っていました。

But the ninja legend lives on in pop culture like 'manga', video games and samurai dramas. 徳川政権下の太平の江戸時代に忍者は無用の存在となり、その姿を消しました。しかし忍者の伝説は、マンガやテレビゲーム、時代劇といった大衆文化に残っています。
